Overview

Existing Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) vision solutions provide 2D (monocular) images that lack depth perception, thus restrict the surgeon’s perspective and limit ability to perform advanced MIS. Stereo vision allows better tissue understanding, hand eye coordination and the use of advanced (articulating) surgical instruments. Image fusion with MRI, CT or ultrasound paves the way to the development of new MIS procedures as well as the enhancement of current procedures.

Visionsense develops proprietary miniature sensors that offer natural stereoscopic vision for MIS. Its disruptive technology is based on a single stereoscopic (3D) sensor that imitates an insect’s compound eye, introducing a paradigm shift in the field. This exclusive solution provides a significant reduction in size and cost, opening opportunities for new and unique surgical developments that result in higher margins. The sensors are customized to fit all types of advanced packaging: rigid, semi-rigid or flexible in either reusable, re-posable, pay per use or disposable models. The computerized 3D system also provides advanced software features, like real-time fusion with volumetric imaging modalities (“see through tissue”), registration of navigation systems, tool tracking, 3D measurements and image analysis.

Visionsense strives to become the leader of miniature stereoscopic systems, leveraging its unique intellectual property and non-competitive landscape, by exclusively licensing other fields to leading strategic partners. Visionsense has launched, with its direct sales & marketing force, a system targeting the Neuro/Spine/ENT markets while licensing other surgical fields to leading companies exclusively. The Company is targeting the world-wide market for reusable and disposable MIS vision cameras.
